Corporate Social Responsibility Policy

SafeJAM Ltd (‘The Company’) is committed to becoming a more sustainable company and will work towards a more viable balance between profitability and the long-term interests of the environment, its employees, trade suppliers, subcontractors and the general public. The Company will seek to protect and enhance the environment and create better lives, well-being and opportunities through the services it provides within the community.

Four key areas of CSR

This sustainability policy outlines four key areas of responsibility that the Company will address:

1. Environmental impact

2. Supply chain and market place

3. Community investment and social impact

4. Employment practices.

1. Environmental impact

The Company will:

- seek to minimise emissions and reduce the negative impacts of transportation when purchasing goods and services, and during delivery and maintenance

- aim to increase re-use and recycling, and, wherever possible, use recycled products and return all natural products back to the environment

- comply with all relevant legislative and statutory environmental requirements

- reduce waste by managing demand, rethinking needs, reducing, reusing and recycling

- develop and maintain an environmental management system (EMS) in compliance with environmental quality standard ISO14001.

Secure IT disposal

SafeJAM Ltd has a dedicated IT Disposal division which covers IT disposal and recycling requirements. It is fully compliant with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive.

ICT equipment recycling

SafeJAM Ltd recycles or reuses computers, servers, laptops, printers, faxes, scanners, plotters and photocopiers; helping to ensure that the environment is protected. These items have almost 100% recyclable materials. Businesses with obligations under the WEEE Regulations are responsible for financing the collection, treatment, recovery and disposal of the WEEE that they supply to businesses. The Company ensures that our own organisation, customers and partners meet these legal requirements.

2. Supply chain and market place

The Company considers the environmental performance of suppliers and subcontractors, and will encourage them to conduct their operations in an environmentally sensitive manner. The Company consults a preferred suppliers list and uses subcontractors who utilise sustainable and environmentally friendly initiatives. It requires all suppliers and subcontractors to complete a competency form and questionnaire.

3. Community investment and social impact

The Company will ensure that all activities are conducted in such a way to cause minimum negative impact to members of the public.

Employees act in a polite and professional manner at all times to represent the Company in a positive light.

The Company supports local charities and community activities, where possible. At SafeJAM Ltd we believe in using our success in a positive way and supporting a variety of charities.
